Carbon steel gleams on its sawed muzzle. A dented butt stock cuts at right angle to the shoulder.
Weapon Class: Bows & Rifles
Accuracy: Low
Multiple ammo used per shot: 3
Multiple projectiles per shot: 3
The carbine is a mid-tier rifle that is notable for its high rate of fire, combined with decent penetration and damage potential. It fires three lead slugs in a single shot, allowing it to potentially hit multiple targets. If found at a low level, it makes an excellent ranged weapon that can generally dispatch most early-game threats in one or two shots. It does, however, consume a decent amount of ammo, which might be difficult to sustain until a decent source of ammunition can be secured.
If not found early, the carbine is often outclassed by other weapons the player is likely to find. In particular, its unique mod-improved variant, the Sparbine, can be obtained by completing the More Than a Willing Spirit quest that grants entry to Grit Gate.
Obtaining
The carbine can be:
- Found as random loot in mid-tier zones or occasionally equipped by random creatures.
- Mechanimist rummagers have about a 10% chance to be carrying a carbine.[1]
- Generated as a random historic site relic if the historic site is in an area of zone tier 4.[2]
- Crafted with the Tinker II skill, after obtaining the required schematic.
- Disarmed from carbine turrets, though this type of turret is somewhat rare.
