Little hooves pat the ground in practiced fury, and three little horns arch toward the sky in menacing miniature. Into the slate-scale skin of his diminutive body is a labyrinth of scar-etched filigree, and while it looks as though it could be the work of a meticulous gemcutter, in fact it's the aftermath of a hundred skirmishes and a gratuitous reduction in size. There, the tiny spirals that were incised by the puma's claw just before it was gored and dashed against the trunk of a diacalyptus tree. There, the miniscule triangle of a warden's pike, who was flattened into a bloody mess and fed to worms. A fate-wrench took Uthabatafah's beastly dominion from him, but might it have gifted him something in return? Through the feckless fury, how might being in the world on a new scale bind him to others in ways he couldn't have imagined before?
Uthabatafah is the first pet released by Freehold Games. He shares the same behavior as a normal rhinox, including a wrecking charge. Despite his aggressive demeanor, his pet status makes him friendly to the player character.
Because his multiple horns level and strength is much lower than a normal rhinox, Uthabatafah's charge strength is only 10. This means:
- Uthabatafah can only destroy walls with less than -10 AV
- he can only push creatures with strength less than 10
- he can only push objects that weigh less than 25#
- his charge deals 2d32-6 (Avg: 4) damage
- no bonus AV
Recall Story
Glory to Shekhinah, friend. Now I wasn't always a pious man, you know. In fact, I used to despise chrome gadgetry. Then one day, while picking through a sumptuous mound of trash in a fulcrete cavern, I heard a loud series of stomps that jostled me out of my boots. I ran, rounded a wide passage, and came face to face with a bloody rhinox. "Now that ain't fair! Ye ain't supposed to be here!" I bellowed, but the beast didn't care much. I sighed and muttered a prayer to the trash gods I worshiped, and the big boy charged. Suddenly, a bizarre contraption chirped, shot a beam of light at big boy, and miniaturized 'im! I couldn't believe my eyes! From that day forth, I was tethered to the Kasaphesence and the Argent Fathers who protect her.
As for big boy -- or Uthabatafah, as I call 'im (it means 'little hoof', heh) -- why, he was still furious. Banged my knee up kind of bad. Eventually he stormed off. I bet he's still out there, you know, kicking up dust in an adorable fury.
