Oozes are a faction in Caves of Qud that are initially hostile to the player character. They are gelatinous and consist mostly of slime (or another liquid depending on the ooze), exuding this liquid instead of blood if they are bleeding.

They are found underground as well as in slimy biomes. When water ritualling with a legendary ooze, 100 reputation points can be traded to teach the player Slime Glands.

Combat

In combat, their main weapons are their pseudopods that are cudgel based weapons. Depending on the type of ooze, this attack will come with a variety of effects in addition to damage. This can be elemental damage or inflicting the victim with a status. Other oozes prefer to engulf their targets and deal damage to them over time while immobilizing them. All oozes are immune to mental attacks due to their mental shield, unless they generated as an extradimensional hunter.
