Ring-molds on the laminated metal frame collect ambient sensory data and use it to augment the viewing frustum.
Grants night vision.
You can see two spaces beyond the first occluding object in your line of sight.
A high-tier alternative to night-vision goggles, night-sight interpolators provide full-color vision at a moderate distance (an 18 tile radius) and allow the player to see a distance of two tiles beyond any occluding object. Their effective radius can be increased by 30% by overloading the interpolators.[1] Unlike the night-vision goggles, night-sight interpolators do not cause the wearer to take additional damage from light-based attacks.[2]
They are one of the few face-slot objects which provide armor; another example is polyhedral rings.
Tips
- The additional viewing distance is helpful for ranged combat, spotting distant threats and detecting secluded chambers while underground.
- Night vision does not make the player more stealthy; most non-player creatures have night vision or a comparable ability which lets them detect the player in total darkness.
- As the highest-tier eyewear, interpolators will maximize the effect of Nav and other applicable mods.
- The Night-sight interpolators allow you to see past Vantabloom darkness unhindered. This does not consume the wall-penetrating effect of the Interpolators, making them very useful deep underground.
