Dardi

The big urshiib is dusted with spice and wet with honeyed grease, and =pronouns.subjects= smells of a melange: hot mushroom, cloying ink, saffron, and cooked tongue.

Perfect

Dardi is a member of the Barathrumites and an inhabitant of Grit Gate.[1] He serves as the group’s chef, and is commonly found near the dining area in the west of Grit Gate.

Character

Dardi is a "food-tinkerer", who "regard[s] cuisine... to be a scientific endeavor". He names his kitchen as his "laboratory", claiming every tool is "precision-calibrated... handcrafted and built to last". Dardi claims that it was The Porridge that inspired him to take up cooking, and that his greatest endeavor is to invent an "edible vapor".

Hortensa describes Dardi as: "Fiery. Blustery. Like the stews he cooks." Additionally, she warns the player: "If you're going to chat with him, make sure you have your schedule cleared and a ewer of honeyed wine."

Wares

Dardi's wares consist of various cooking ingredients. The items he stocks will be chosen from an Ingredients table based on the tier of the zone he spawns in; as he usually spawns in Grit Gate, his items will be taken from Ingredients1.[2] Dardi does not restock.

Combat

Dardi will begin neutral to the player but will become hostile if the player attacks him or any Barathrumites within view of him. He can also become hostile if the player's reputation with the Barathrumites falls low enough, or if the player is seen stealing their belongings or damaging their property.

Equipment

Dardi comes equipped with a unique weapon, the etched cleaver, also known as "Difucila". Difucila has the damage and penetration cap of a folded carbide dagger, and always comes modded with sharp and masterwork. He also comes equipped with a chain pistol, 50-70 lead slugs, and a pair of plastifer sneakers. He will never list these items when trading with the player, save for his lead slugs.[3]

Skills

Dardi has the Short Blade Expertise and Bloodletter skills. These allow him to more quickly make attacks with his cleaver, and allow him to inflict bleeding while using it, respectively. He also possesses Steady Hand, which will increase his accuracy when using his chain pistol.[3]

Mutations

Being an urshiib, Dardi possesses the Albino (D) mutation, the Quills mutation at level 6, and the Triple-jointed mutation at level 3.[3] Quills provides Dardi with damage reflection, immunity to the quills of other creatures, and the "Quill Fling" activated ability, which allows Dardi to fire a portion of his quills to deal damage to adjacent creatures. He will also possess quills, natural equipment worn on his body that can't be removed, providing him with an additional ♦4 AV. Triple-jointed will grant Dardi an additional 3 Agility.

Self Preservation

If Dardi's hitpoints fall below 60% of his maximum, he will cease combat and will begin to actively flee from threats.[4]
