Their hunched back is sown with tufts of white fur and needle quills. The nose at the end of their bear-snout is dark and wet. Long, slender, triple-jointed fingers sprout from their pudgey paws and flutter with composed precision.
A tinker is a creature belonging to the Barathrumites faction. Barathrumite tinkers can be found rarely almost anywhere, in groups with other members of the Barathrumites.
Barathrumite tinkers will be neutral to the player by default, but will become hostile if provoked. Being urshiib, they possess the Albino (D) mutation, the Quills mutation at level 6, and the Triple-jointed mutation at level 3.[1] Quills provides a Barathrumite tinker with damage reflection, immunity to the quills of other creatures, and the ability to fire off their quills to attack creatures in adjacent tiles, while Triple-jointed increases the tinker's Agility. However, they possess no weaponry and will attack with their fists in melee.
Barathrumite tinkers will always spawn in possession of a cloth robe, but will be unable to wear it due to their quills. Additionally, they will possess several pieces of scrap taken from a Scrap table, with the number value of the table being equivalent to the tier of the zone the tinker spawned in. Each item from the table will be rolled 2-4 times. Finally, Barathrumite tinkers have a 50% chance to possess a random white-titled book.[2]
