A thick cord of bristly segments are capped by a cuspate beak for breaking through shale.
A knollworm is a low-level creature and member of the worms faction often found in low-level underground areas. They use their crab-crushing beak along with their Cleave skill to lower the AV of their opponents by inflicting the cleaved status effect (or cracked, if the target is a player character).
They (as well as their plated counterparts) have a 100% chance of dropping a knollworm corpse upon death, a particularly useful property given that this corpse may be a component of the cure for Fungal Infections given in the Corpus Choliys.
Differences from Plated Knollworms
knollworms are very similar to plated knollworms, but with a lower AV stat (3 rather than 6) which makes them easier to kill. This lower durability also makes knollworms less offensively dangerous, as it gives them less time to capitalize on the AV penalties they impose on their targets.
Additionally, knollworms have a lower Toughness than plated knollworms, are 1 level lower, and grant slightly less experience when killed.
