A giant dragonfly is a low-level flying insect in Caves of Qud. While in flight, they are immune to most physical attacks and can only be hit with ranged attacks.

They are commonly found in the desert canyons, Salt Marshes, flower fields, jungles, ruins, and River biomes. They often have lairs in the salt marshes.

Tips

While exceptionally weak and easily killed, there is little benefit to doing so, as they drop nothing but a giant dragonfly corpse, which cannot be butchered, and give a very small amount of experience.
Due to being mainly grazing hedonists, they among beetlebums will be the only neutral insects towards the player at the start.
- Legendary dragonflies can be water ritualled for +100 insect reputation. However, giving secrets to them will only boost grazing hedonist reputation.
