If the player character is afflicted with the early stages of Glotrot or Ironshank, eating a yuckwheat stem will give the player character a +2 bonus to the next save against the disease for the day. If honey is also consumed, the bonus does not stack.

The cooking effect of its preserved form,fermented yuckwheat stem, has a chance of adding a +3 bonus and cooked. This bonus can be stacked for a +5 resist to disease combined with eating an unpreserved yuckwheat stem.
