A phial is a single-dramUnit of liquid. A waterskin can hold 64. One dram of water is the base unit of currency. liquid container which can carry any kind of liquid. It is well suited to carrying rare or dangerous liquids, and is especially suited to carrying lava due to the fact that the phial is immune to temperature changes. Occasionally, phials containing neutron flux may be found. However, phials may only hold neutron flux if spawned or poured into from a powered magnetic bottle.

When thrown, a phial will shatter upon impact, pouring whatever liquid it contained onto whatever it collided with.
Obtaining
- Several phials will be sold by an ichor merchant, at least one of which is guaranteed to spawn in the Stiltgrounds.
- The alchemist is guaranteed to sell several empty phials.
Tips
- Phials are not the only safe containers for lava; any liquid-fueled cell is not affected by the temperature of the liquid it holds, and therefore can hold lava safely. Both cells and phials weigh #1 while empty, but cells hold 8 drams and phials hold 1 dram of liquid per item; this makes liquid-fueled cells more weight efficient for holding lava.
- Phials do not stack in the player's inventory, and can clog equipment or trade screens. This might be another reason to use liquid-fueled cells over phials.
