Rust-caked spines line the interior of an iron sarcophagus. Dissatisfied with the caliber of earthly punishments, its deviser sought to deprave even the restful slumber of eternity.
iron maiden is furniture that cannot be picked up. It can be disassembled into <CC> bits, but cannot be built.[1] Village Quests can ask the player to enter one.
Interacting with one gives the option to enter the iron maiden. Entering one will immediately damage the creature inside for 1d3+12-4 (Avg: 3) and inflict them with enclosed. While inside, this will give anything inside +3 and -14. Each turn while inside has a 30% chance of inflicting 1d3+12-4 (Avg: 3) damage to its occupant. To exit, the occupant must make a strength save of difficulty 14. Failing this check has a 50% chance to inflict the same amount of damage in addition to the periodic damage[1][2]. The iron maiden can still be entered and function normally if it is broken.
Animated
iron maidens can be animated via Spray-a-Brain or nano-neuro animator. All iron maidens also have a 1/15,000 chance of being animated. Animated iron maidens have Intimidate. If a legendary one spawns in a lair, their name schemes will be related to their function. "Impaler", "Piercer", "Torturer", "Agonizer", "Butcher", "Bloodletter", "Exsanguinator" are all possible titles that the iron maiden can have. [1]
