I found one of these yesterday and the description is somewhat different than what's shown on the wiki.

Function
I'm quite confused how this item works, and, because it seems so valuable, don't want to waste it. The conditions for removal, and the effects of the removal, are not clearly separated, in the single text sentence.
- does it only affect members of the selected faction which are currently visible to the player, or all members in the zone?
- does it remove the members of the selected faction entirely from the game, or only the ones which are in the zone with the player (or only visible)?
Edit: Given the name of the xml tag, I am assuming it removes the members entirely from the game, like NetHack's scroll of genocide (... choose liches, every time! ) Edit: Visibility is no longer in the description, so I am assuming that's not a factor. And guessing "nearby" probably means in the current zone.
