Note to Self

Discord user lapis wrote the below via chat. This note is a self-reminder to add it to the article.

There's a couple ways to handle forcefields

  • You can just attack them; they have a high AV and HP but you can damage them on crits and potentially break through if the wall isn't refreshed
  • Sometimes the field is generated by an electrical device, like a bracelet or a nearby generator tile, disabling that through EMP or similar will stop the field
  • If you're true kin, there is a mid-high tier implant that lets you walk through forcefields
  • Also if someone generates a forcefield in your space or shoved you into one, you can move freely inside the field and slip out
  • This is also a good use case for a yondercane or any kind of phasing power, as forcefields are phase-sensitive and you can walk past them if you phase out, or otherwise teleport away with recoil
  • Normality gas will rip through forcefields, I think you have to drop an anchor but it should disable fields in a 3x3 around you if you're standing on it. A nulling weapon will tear them apart like tissues
